The Reflection

The Reflection
By Donna Daacke

Brave is the warrior that stands before me with her straight, strong and confident posture.
With a beauty that sparkles like a multi-faceted gem, she declares a power evident in her expression.
Perfectly imperfect she fully embraces a life well-lived.
Proudly on display are the crevices reflective of a well-traveled journey.
With the heart of a lion, she is deeply in tune with the wisdom she draws her strength from.
Boldly able to concur anything she has erased any fragments of doubt, seeing herself only as a woman worthy of love and capable of all good things.
Pondering, who is this beautiful light? She reminds me of someone I know.
Familiar, but out of touch for some time. I continue to stare,
certain that we have met somewhere along the way.
Studying her, It becomes clear now.
In front of this mirror stands a girl whose reflection was almost forgotten.

Mirror work is something that Louise Hay is well known for, It didn’t likely start there but, she helps make a user-friendly version. Because the mirror reflects to you the feelings you have about yourself. It makes you immediately aware of where you are resisting and where you are open and flowing. It clearly shows you where your thoughts lay and what will need to change if you want to have a joyous, fulfilling life.

Put simply, whatever we say or think is an affirmation. All of your self-talk, the dialogue in your head, is a stream of affirmation. So, practice next time in front of your mirror brushing your teeth, moisturizing your skin, or nothing but just passing by, stop and study that person, tell her that you love her, tell her how brave she is, and how anything is possible for her and how grateful you are for every single bit of her beautiful face!!
