Okay so some of you may need to read this again lol, but maybe read it again and think of it in terms of Loving Thy Self. What is holistic self care? For me as a mind-body, self care coach it means to consider to lovingly honor all parts of myself, mind, body, emotions, and spirit and how truly the sum is greater than it parts. Self Care simply is the care I provide for myself on all levels. We brush our teeth and try to eat well, maybe have that massage once in a while and even then it’s a treat. Honoring all aspects of our care doesn’t have to be expensive or elaborate but it does have to deliberate. It’s tuning in and paying attention to what my holistic self needs are in any giving moment. Here are 20 ideas for affordable self care. 
Loving Thy Self, has a ripple effect and in a bigger sense it’s really loving yourself and that expression then has a chance to go out to all of humanity.

1.Taking a few moments outside to shift and breathe in new energy, letting go of junk (stress).
2. Taking a bath, soaking in some epson salt and maybe a little essential oil if you have them.
3. Taking a time out for a cup of tea, in a porcelain mug or even better cup and saucer. I have a dedicated cup and saucer that feels special.
4. A walk in nature, nothing more grounding than being out among trees and sky.

6. Move the bod, the internet is full of everything, perhaps explore some free yoga in the comfort of your own home.

8. How about 10 fingers of gratitude, shift out of stress and into a flow of gratitude calming the bod and it’s chemistry by counting on all ten fingers, things that you are grateful for, large and or small.

11. Find stillness, again it’s all about giving your self permission to take the time even 15 mins before you start/ or anytime within your busy day.
12. Bing watch a TV program and be okay with it!
13. Journal your thoughts, extra cool on beautiful stationary, release them to the universe.
14. Create a mantra, that declares what it is you will start to do for yourself on a regular basis, and post it where you’ll see it often, keeping yourself accountable.
15. Enjoy that piece of chocolate and or wine, they are actually great grounding foods!
16. Maybe consider making one small change to your diet for a week.
17. Consider taking social media breaks, start small and work up, we are all way too plugged in!
18. Compliment someone, two or even three people today and pay attention to how that feels in your body.
19. Do a body scan, quieting yourself and tune in/pay attention to what is it that my body is telling me, how is it feeling, what do I need in this moment? Turning off the auto pilot.
20. Always, always practice self compassion, we are in this together. There are a so many things out there now in the world of complementary therapies for even more self care. Maybe you set a goal and treat yourself to something like a body treatment, energy wellness session or mindfulness, the list goes on and again use all the free resources available on line.
