The Reflection

By Donna Daacke

Brave is the warrior who stands before me with her straight, strong, confident posture.

With a beauty that sparkles like a multi-faceted gem, she declares a power evident in her expression.

Perfectly imperfect, she fully embraces a life well-lived.

Proudly on display are the crevices reflective of a well-traveled journey.

With the heart of a lion, she is deeply in tune with the wisdom
she draws from as her strength.

Boldly able to conquer all things, she has erased any fragments
of doubt, seeing herself only as a woman worthy of love and capable of all good things.

Pondering further, who is this beautiful light I am staring at?
She reminds me of someone I know.

Familiar, but feeling a little out of touch for some time.
I stare, confident that we have met somewhere along the way.

Studying her, Ah.... happily, now It becomes clear!

In front of this mirror stands a soul who was reminded
of her beautiful reflection that was almost forgotten.

Mirrorwork is something that Louise Hay is well known for; It didn’t likely start there, but she helps make it user-friendly. Because the mirror reflects your feelings about yourself, it makes you immediately aware of where you are resisting and where you are open and flowing. It clearly shows you where your thoughts lay and what you must change to find joy and fulfillment.

Simply put, whatever we say or think is an affirmation. All of your self-talk, the dialogue in your head, is a stream of declaration. So, practice next time in front of your mirror brushing your teeth, moisturizing your skin, or just passing by; stop and study that person, get to know her again and tell her that you love her, tell her how brave she is, and how anything is possible for her and how grateful you are for every single bit of her beautiful face!!
