What A Difference A Week Makes.
By, Donna Daacke
Hi Friends Two weeks ago I traveled to the Scottish Highlands, one of my favorite places on the globe. The first week was great digging into history and searching out Jamie Frasier from Outlander ha! Week two however has been a different story as many of you at home are experiencing, saying it’s been a bit of craziness with all of the messages of the changing news surrounding Covid-19 would be an understatement. I am not going to lie, my first reaction was to head to the side of fear, anxiousness, concern, sadness, and urgency. I have to figure out how to get home and pronto! As the charge worked its way into my reality I soon became aware of life’s duality in all things and how the Great Creator likes to stir things up bit in an effort to bring us back to what’s real and as a process of expansion. The only thing I did have control over amidst the frenzy at home as things remained quite calm in the Highlands was to shift within the duality and make my way toward those thoughts and emotions that carry the higher vibration of love like faith, trust, compassion, restoring the peace within. I wasn’t even able to discern clearly in a charged state of fear.
After considering an immediate exit the decision was made to ride things out in Scotland and continue on with the valued time with my daughter. I’ll be it a bit distracted and very personally and socially conscious but never the less living life and I am so glad that we did
. Life is always teaching us, improving us, autocorrecting us, isn’t that after all what intrigues us so? Knowing it comes with some challenge an opportunity to learn is maybe what we sign up for and a part of that challenge has to be working through it and coming out stronger, wiser, kinder, an even better version of ourselves as individuals and as a humanity. As we move into a brand new day and brand new week let’s make decisions that encourage one another to lean to the side of love. Let’s find the joy in scrabble and monopoly again or rediscover our pleasure in cooking and family sit downs. Let us help out a fellow neighbor who may be short of help and or resources. Check in on those that may require being even more housebound such as the elderly and immune challenged. Share some love, share some toilet paper, share a laugh and share the best of intentions. It truly does take a village.
Here in Scotland at least, I can’t speak for the rest of the UK, folks are taking this all very seriously as well and have implemented the necessary precautions but I don’t believe there’s been a shortage of toilet paper yet and there is a sense of urgency but not frenzy. Our plans are to travel back into the states this week, waiting and watching to see how airports, crowds and such dissipate a bit and then we will honor the self quarantine.
Everyday of every week I am sending and wishing us all so much love and peace. Stay present, stay healthy, stay real and always stay to the side of love!
Have a great week!
XO Donna
